This is a cute picture as it is. Or, crop in closer on kitty for even better image.
Add tiny hearts or stars and musical notes around with thin wispy curves and
swirling trails as if they're sounds coming from the piano.

Silhouette of a Horse-drawn Carriage with Women and Soldiers

CC0 Silhouette image of Horse-drawn Carriage with women and soldiers. Public Domain printable picture for Junk Journals Ephemera Derivative Art Craft.

You can make something similar to this if an image has a good outline.
First Convert a picture to black and white.
Then try alternatively using the Paint Bucket Tool, the Eraser Tool, and the Pencil Tool until you get a crisp outline.
When you choose the eraser and pencil tools pick options with crisp edges and put the opacity at 100 percent.

Fat Tabby Kitty Cats

CC0 image of stuffed toy Kittens with sewing instructions. Public Domain picture for Junk Journals & Ephemera. or to make Coloring Pages and Crafts.

Wonderful Happy Tabby kitties! Even includes the bottoms of their little feetsies!
Sooo... cute! These Prints will make great Ephemera.
Their simple outlines should be easy to set up for making stickers.
Or print them on your home printer for easy "fussy cuts" (Hand cutting with scissors).
Simple coloring pages can be made by just turning them into grayscale images.

Animals

CC0 images of 2 Giraffes, Children & Animals. Public Domain picture of Ships for Junk Journals & Ephemera. Photos of Horse Carriages to use in Crafts.

If the original download is "High Resolution" (such as this one 3000 x 2739)
you can use parts of the larger image to create individual images like the ones below.

CC0 images of Children working and playing. Public Domain picture for Junk Journals & Ephemera. Photos to use in Crafts.

CC0 images of 2 Giraffes and other wild animals. Public Domain picture of Drawings of Wild Animals for Junk Journals & Ephemera. Photos to use in Crafts.

CC0 Drawings Horse-drawn Carriages and Horses. Public Domain pictures of Horse Carriages for Junk Journals & Ephemera. Photos of Horses to use in Crafts.

Images of Ships that are CC0 and Public Domain. Pictures of Ships for Junk Journals & Ephemera. Photos of Tall Ships to use in Crafts.

Using the Cloning / Stamp Tool you can isolate part of an image and create single smaller images like the two Giraffes below. Using the clone tool the surrounding animals have been removed so that the giraffes are isolated in the same color background.
Even though the giraffes are an enlarged area of a very small portion of the original image;
they can still print small images of about 2.5"x 3".
This size can be used for printing on page corners or used to
make small cards that can be used as Ephemera or put in Junk Journals etc.

Lion Cub looking up and to the side

Cute as a Screen Saver!
The Magic Wand tool or the Magic Extractor tool can be used to separate the Cub from it's background.
The resulting image would make a good piece for Derivative images because
it can be used to direct attention to what the cub is looking at.

Drawings of Grizzly Bear Heads

CC0 image showing 5 drawings of the heads of Grizzly Bears. Public Domain picture for Junk Journals & Ephemera. Photo to use in Derivative Crafts.

Use these with themes of Woods, Wildlife, Forest, Woodlands, Circus, Bears,
and with pages or projects with Brown, and Green Colors
(green because our subconscious thoughts automatically associate bears with forest colors).
They will also mix well with themes relating to Masculine and things tending to be of interest to Boys.
